Greetings everyone,

We are excited to welcome you to the Bobcat Bonanza Swing Tournament hosted by San Angelo Central FULLY IN PERSON! We hope to bring you a great weekend of competition and learning for your students in the year 2021 in San Angelo, TX! We are ecstatic to offer a full swing this year with all events! The Central side will be considered Blue while the Central Freshman side will be referred to as Orange.

We will offer the following IE events: DX, FX, DI, HI, POI, Duet, Duo, INFO, OO, Prose, Poetry, and Impromptu. Each competitor can enter in BOTH SIDES of the tournament on these events!! 

We will offer the following Debate Events on BOTH SIDES of the tournament as well: Congressional Debate, LD, CX, PF, and World Schools. Due to scheduling and wanting to run the tournament as smoothly as possible, students are allowed to Cross Enter in ONE IE on Pattern B (this can include either Extemp) if entered in LD, PF, or Congress on that side of the swing. They will enter at their own risk.

If entered in CX or World Schools, you can NOT cross enter.

Regarding judges, we've decided not to assign fees for judging. We know many budgets are precarious right now; but PLEASE do your best to cover your entries. We are trying to recruit volunteer judges but there's no way we will be able to make this work without your commitment to help. Therefore, I thank you in advance for us all working together to make this the best tournament possible for all of our awesome kids!!

COVID Protocols: Masked are encouraged but not required. Teams will be spread out in the cafeteria. We will NOT have a concession stand. However, I am reaching out to try to get food trucks to attend and will keep you updated. There are plenty restaurants around the campus!

Cross Entries: Each Student can enter in 3 events per Pattern. Students are allowed to Cross Enter in ONE IE on Pattern B (this can include either Extemp) if entered in LD,PF, or Congress on that side of the swing. They will enter at their own risk. . A Student can only enter one type of Extemp.

Blue Pattern A- Duet, DI, Prose, IMP, INFO, OO

Blue Pattern B- Duo, HI, Poetry, DX, FX, POI

Orange Pattern A- Duo, DI, Prose, POI, OO, INFO

Orange Pattern B- Duet, HI, Poetry, FX, DX, IMP

Blue Prelims- 1-5

Blue Finals- 6-10

Orange Prelims- 6-10

Orange Finals- 1-5

If you are entered in LD, PF, or Congress, you may enter in ONE IE from Pattern B AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Sweepstakes formula is as follows:

Individual Events and Congress

1st - 15 points

2nd - 10 points

3rd - 5 points

Finalist (4-6) - 3 points

Debate Events (including CX, LD, PF, NPF, WSD)

1st place - 15 points

2nd place - 10 points

Semifinalists - 5 points

Quarterfinalist - 3 points
