Welcome to the 2022 Viking Voice Invitational 

Hosted by Middleton High School 

We are excited to welcome you to Middleton High School on Friday and Saturday, February 4th and 5th, for the 2022 Viking Voice Invitational.  We will offer all 14 IHSAA speech events on Friday in a varsity division and the IHSAA debate events in a varsity division only on Saturday.  As this is the last invitational before the upcoming NSDA and district tournaments, we hope you will join us for some great competition!

COVID Protocol - this tournament will follow the COVID masking protocol adopted by the D3 area schools (judges masked, students masked when in common areas, all students exempt when eating and speaking, judges exempt when eating).

Speech Information

Students may double enter in speech, but not in 2 draw events (Extemp, Radio, Retold) or a draw events AND Panel.  Students will go to Panel first and then to their other event.  As we start later on Friday, we will not offer a final round but base awards off of the 3 prelim round results.

Panel topics will be posted on the tab when they are decided.  Please check back later for posting.

We will use the December, January, and February NFHS extemp topics.

Debate Information

Only a varsity division will be offered at this tournament.  We will have several rounds for CX, LD and PF debate.  We will offer 3 prelims in Congress.  The debate topics will be those designated for that month in PF and LD, the national CX topic, and the 2022 Spring D3 legislation packet. 

As there are no finals, awards will be presented based on prelim results in CX, LD, and PF and to those that place in Congress.
