DEBATE RULE REMINDERS 

1. DO NOT start a debate until EVERYONE in the debate's camera is ON.

2. JUDGES you MUST keep your camera on during the ENTIRE debate.

3. Judge you MUST make a decision, write feedback, and then give a VERBAL decision in the round before the students can leave.

 

I understand things are hectic, and it's not ideal circumstances but we MUST follow the above rules to provide a safe, educational environment for all.

Greetings!

The Nova High School Speech and Debate Team cordially invites you to attend the 20th Annual Titan Invitational, held online through NSDA Campus on October 9th and 10th. The Titan Invitational will offer quality competition in the following debate events: Lincoln Douglas Debate, JV/Varsity Public Forum Debate, and Congressional Debate, as well as excellent fields in seven Individual Events: Mixed Extemporaneous Speaking, Original Oratory, Informative Speaking, Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, and Program Oral Interpretation! As in years past, we are privileged to offer bids to the UK Tournament of Champions in the following categories:


- Congress - Top 16

- Gold PF - Semifinalists/Finalists

- Silver PF - Quarters

- IE (Extemp, OO, Info, HI, DI, POI) - Awards based on total # of entries

 

NEW THIS YEAR: We are proud to announce that this year, Titan Invitational will also offer Finals bids to the Tournament of Champions in Extemporaneous Speaking hosted by Northwestern University!



Public Forum Topic

Competitors will be debating the NSDA 2021 September/October Topic:

 

Ø  Resolved:  The North Atlantic Treaty Organization should substantially increase its defense commitments to the Baltic states.

 

Lincoln Douglas Topic
Competitors will be debating the NSDA 2021 September/October Topic:

Ø  Resolved:  The member nations of the World Trade Organization ought to reduce intellectual property protections for medicines.
