Iowa Forensics League State Tournament Invite

 

 

Hello fellow coaches,

 

The members of the Iowa Forensics League would like to invite you and your teams to the IOWA FORENSIC LEAGUE STATE TOURNAMENT which will be held March 4^th through the 6^th. Registration is now  open. Due to the ongoing pandemic, this event will be 100% online using the NSDA Campus system. Funding for the online debate rooms has generously been provided by Paul Bellus, Brian Rubaie, and the Iowa Debate Team at the University of Iowa.

 

Due to the nature of online speech, we have modified the schedule for this year to accommodate student learning and classroom attendance. Speech events will take place after school and in the evening of March 4^th with finals continuing after school on March 5^th. Following the conclusion of Speech events and awards, we will commence the Debate events. Debate events will continue/conclude on March 6^th.

 

Registration is now open and will closes at 8 PM on Friday, February 26^th. Judge requirements are due on March 3^rd.

 

For this tournament, all NSDA speech events will be offered as well as the IHSSA events of prose, poetry, and spontaneous speaking. All debate events will be offered. The tournament will be using the 2020-21 criminal justice reform Policy topic, the January/February LD topic, and the February PF topic.

 

Each school entering Student Congress is encouraged to submit two pieces of legislation for debate. Procedure on how to submit the legislation and the procedure on how legislation will be divided for prelim sessions and finals is available on the tournament tabroom site.
