Greetings Illinois Coaches--
Looking forward to seeing you at Illinois State University March 14-16, 2019. You can find important information about the IHSA State Championship Debate Tournament on the IHSA website. Make sure to check out any changes in the Terms and Conditions.
Here’s a review of some important information:

The Public Forum debate topic will be Resolved: The United States should promote the development of market rate housing in urban neighborhoods.

The Lincoln Douglas debate topic will be Resolved: The illegal use of drugs ought to be treated as a matter of public health, not of criminal justice.

Congress legislation is due no later than January 30. Please send properly formatted legislation to: https://sites.google.com/view/ihsacoachessite/submit-legislation.

Congress legislation will be posted on the IHSA website the first week in February.

Congress assignments are on the IHSA website.

First year out debaters can judge for your school in PF, LD, and Policy.

All PF, LD, and policy judges must be previous debaters or have judged a minimum of 10 varsity rounds of debate.

We will be using Tabroom(http://ihsa.tabroom.com). Make sure all participants--including judges--have accounts.

All judges will need to be cleared to judge by ISU. A Google doc will be sent to coaches for information.

Registration opens on Tabroom on Monday, January 14.

Registration closes at midnight on Thursday, February 28. You will be charged for any drops after that date.

You can make name changes on Tabroom through March 13.

Make checks payable to IHSA. Please make sure to bring your check to registration. All money is due at registration.

Make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. There are a lot of things going on in town that weekend.

Tournament registration/check-in will be in Fell Hall Foyer on Thursday, March 14, from 6-9:00 p.m.
