Welcome to the 2019 Idaho Gem of the Mountain NSDA District Tournament

Thursday, February 14 @ Renaissance High School

Friday and Saturday, February 15-16 @ Boise High School

The district leadership team wishes to extend a hearty "thank you" to Kyra Mauney, Renaissance HS, and Melinda Schulz, Boise HS, for being willing to host the district tournament!

Congressional Debate will take place at Renaissance HS, Meridian, on Thursday, February 14.  Registration will start at 11:00 am.  The chambers will start debate at 12:00 noon and continue debate until the NSDA time limit has been reached according to the new pilot rules for our tournament.  The legislative packet is attached to this website and is the Spring 2019 packet.  Legislators will set the docket in chambers.  A Top Presiding Officer award will be awarded in each chamber in honor and remembrance  of James Mosley, longtime parliamentarian and judge in our circuit.

The remaining speech and debate events will take place at Boise High School on Friday and Saturday, February 15 and 16.  The schedule can be found on this website.  We will hold 3 preliminary rounds in all speech events and the appropriate elimination rounds (based on entry numbers).  In debate, we will hold 4 preliminary rounds and then the appropriate number of elimination rounds depending on entry numbers.

Awards will be presented to all qualifiers and the schools being recognized in sweepstakes at the conclusion of the tournament Saturday evening.

If after reviewing the website, please contact any of the leadership team with your questions.  Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you and your team members for NSDA Districts!
