Welcome to the 2018 Canyon County Classic Speech & Debate Tournament

Leg One of the Seasonal Swing with Columbia High School

Nampa High School is pleased to host this years Canyon County Classic Speech and Debate Tournament. This years CCC will once again be the first leg of the Seasonal Swing with Columbia High. Schools that compete in both the Canyon County Classic as well as the Holiday Havoc tournaments will be eligible for an additional Super Sweepstakes trophies to be presented at Holiday Havoc in December. 

Events offered at this years Canyon County Classic will be all 14 Idaho Speech Events. We will also offer Novice and Open divisions of Lincoln Douglas, Public forum, and Policy debates as well as Open only divisions for Congress and Big Questions Debate formats. Big question debate will be offered as a 1v1 format. 

There will be a concessions stand available for students to purchase food from on both days of the tournament. There are numerous fast food places around, however rounds will be running on time and starting promptly. I would strongly encourage all competitors to remain on Campus. 

Bus Arrival

If you arrive to Nampa via bus please drop off students in the busb cut outs off ofo LakeL Lowell in front of the gym, if your bus is staying you can have it drive around campus and park on Canyon St in the West side of the stadium. For competitors and judges that are driving you can park in the parking lot in front of the school and gymnasium if you can find space. School lets out at 2:39 and will be really busy in the front until 3:00 pm. 

COST/JUDGE REQUIREMENTS

Speech Events: $10 per speech entry

Debate Events: $10 for single entry events (LD, Congress, Big Questions)

Debate Events: $15 for partner events (CX, PF)

Judge Requirements:  1 for each 6 speech entries, 1 for each 4 LD, PF, or Big Questions entries, and 1 for each 2 CX entries.
