Event Description:
This event is a hybrid of prepared and impromptu speaking!
The purpose of a Campaign Speech is for students to make a compelling case for why they should be elected to a real or fictitious office. Students should elaborate on the reasons the audience should vote for them, using specific examples. Props are not allowed.
Speeches should be between 2 and 3 minutes. After the speech is concluded, the judge will ask the student two questions about their qualifications. The student must answer each for 30-60 seconds.
