Event Description:
Summary: Trio Impromptu is a spontaneous event where three person teams will be given two minutes of preparation time to make a five minute maximum performance based off of the chosen topic (where there are three topics given to the team and one is chosen). The topics will be various scenarios for the teams to act out. An example could be “One teammate has just seen an alien, another teammate is unconvinced of the sighting, and the third teammate is the alien spotted”. Drawing: Each team will be given three different scenes from a judge in the round from which the team shall immediately select one. Notes: No notes shall be allowed in the presentation of the speech. Time: Teams will give a performance that is a maximum of five minutes in length. There is no minimum time. Exceeding this time limit by more than 15 seconds shall be penalized by a lowering of one rank. Judges should use discretion if the speaker is forced to exceed this time limit due to audience reaction. Teammates may touch each other, but not audience members or the judge in rounds. Additionally, teams may not pose questions or directly interact with audience members, other competitors, or judges.
