World School Debate
Event Description:
WSD will only be offered if there are sufficient entries from a variety of schools.
We will offer 4 rounds of WSD debate (although since this is a new event and I'm not sure of the timing yet Round 4 may be cut for scheduling purposes)
Rounds 1 and 3 will use a prepared motion, each team will debate 1 round on the opposition and 1 round as the proposition for the prepared motion. Rounds 2 and 4 will be impromptu motions.
The prepared motion is: This House would eliminate standardized testing in schools.
During impromptu prep, students may only access an almanac and a dictionary. Teams are responsible for bringing their own almanac and dictionary. Teams without an almanac and/or dictionary will prepare without them. NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES ARE ALLOWED IN WORLD SCHOOLS. The only exception is that a phone may be used as a timer only, and must be on airplane mode the entire time.
