Lincoln-Douglas Debate [BRACKET A]
Event Description:
Lincoln-Douglas Debate will be scheduled on the bracket system, giving debaters a rare opportunity for multiple-entry. LD contestants MAY enter one or two events in Bracket B (including speech events, Congressional Debate, or Parliamentary Debate), but they MAY NOT enter another event in Bracket A. All LDers may also enter a supplemental event.
Students will debate the November/December resolution which is announced on October 1 at www.nationalforensicleague.org/aspx/nav.aspx?navid=227&pnavID=175. Each debater will receive 4 minutes of prep time per round.
Each school must bring one qualified adult debate judge for every 3 competitors (or fraction thereof) entered Lincoln-Douglas Debate and/or Parliamentary Debate.
LDers looking for a second event are encouraged to enter Parliamentary Debate, Congressional Debate, or Extemporaneous Speaking, as well.
