Event Description:
Communication Analysis - 10 minutes maximum with a 30- second “grace period.”
- Performance: An original speech by the student designed to offer an explanation and/or evaluation of a communication event such as a speech, speaker, movement, poem, poster, film, campaign, etc., through the use of rhetorical principles. Manuscripts are permitted.
- Visual Aids: Audio-visual aids may or may not be used to supplement and reinforce the message.
- Time: This event has a 10 maximum with a 30 second grace period. After which a timing violation will result in being dropped one rank by the judge. Time signals are not provided. Students may time themselves for reference, but the judge is the official timekeeper of the round.
