Event Description:
Students will pull three topics from a hat, choose 1, and put the other 2 back.
Then, a 7 minute timer will begin and students may allocate that time however they’d like between preparing a and speaking, though the recommendation is a 2/5 split with 2 being the amping of time spent preparing and 5 the amount of time speaking. There is nointernet accesspermitted at any time during this event. The only materials allowed will be a blank paper and a writing utensil.
We strongly encourage students who are exclusively in debate to enter into this event in the morning for a more engaging experience and to help sharpen ‘speaking on the spot’ skills.
