Pro Con Challenge

Event Description:

Welcome to the PRO CON CHALLENGE Division!

In this event, you will pick ONE of three Pro Con topic options to give two back to back Pro and Con speeches on. One speech will argue for the topic and the other will argue against. This format generally utilizes NSDA LD and PF topics. You may, but do not have to, refute your pro speech in your con speech. Each speech is to be a maximum of 5 minutes long. Please present the two speeches consecutively, with little to no time in between (total of approximately 10 mins). This event does not place a limit on prep time to conduct research and organize notes on your chosen topic. The speech does not have to be memorized. Please record your speech and upload it to Tabroom once you are done.
You may use any resource, including the internet, to conduct research.
Please reference our honesty policy for any rules and violations. This is a one-person event.

Topics: (Keep in mind you only need to pick ONE of these three topics BUT you need to give a speech both for AND against the topic!)

1. Civil disobedience in a democracy is morally justified.

2. The justices of the Supreme Court of the United States ought to be term-limited.

3. The United States Federal Government should ban the collection of personal data through biometric recognition technology.
