Event Description:

Students discuss a topic for 35 minutes. As of October 4, 2019, students may bring notes on an 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of paper (one-sided) for each topic. Students are scored based on their ability to move the topic forward while facilitating a collaborative discussion.

Panel Topics are:

Round 1: What can Federal and State Governments do to combat the opioid epidemic

Round 2: Studies show that Idaho's current graduation rate hovers around 80%. This means that roughly 20% of Idaho's students do not graduate high school. What can States do to increase student achievement in their schools?

Round 3: According to Pew Research Center "strengthening the economy" is the top concern Americans have. What should be done to address the increase of the cost of living in the United States?

Finals: According to a Gallup Poll, as of October 2022, roughly 75% of Americans disapprove of the way the 117th Congress is handling its job. What can the 118th Congress do to increase their approval rates?
