Duet /group Improvisation

Event Description:

In this event no preparation or script is necessary. This event can be performed solo, duet, or sometimes group. The student will draw three humorous topics; they will choose one to perform. When the chosen topic is selected, the student will have 3 minutes to go out into the hall and prepare a beginning, middle (with conflict) and an end with resolution. The students are unaware of the topics before hand so the real challenge is being able to create a complete scene off the top of your head. Time limits are 5 -7 minutes. There are 3 different types of improv you may be asked to perform; situation, prop, or 3-word improv. The three - word improv is where you will be given 3 words to incorporate into your scene. Situation improv is where your characters and setting will be defined and you come up with the conflict and resolution.
