Policy Debate

Event Description:

Policy Debate, also known as Cross-Examination Debate, consists of two-person teams using the 8-3-5 switch side format debating issues of policy under the national resolution. The 2019-20 national resolution will be used. NFL rules apply. A few highlighted rules include:

• Each team must consist of two debaters from the same school.
• Each team will be alloted 5 minutes of Prep Time each round.
• Electronic storage/retrieval devices (laptops, tablets, phones) are permitted. Internet connectivity is permitted for the purpose of sharing evidence, but communicating with a 3rd party during a debate round is not.
