Event Description:
Novice students are defined as students who are in their first year of speech and/or debate competition, including middle school. Freshmen competitors with previous competitive experience should be appropriately placed in the JV divisions or risk immediate disqualification.
The Novice Cross-Examination division will be strictly limited to the Novice Policy Debate Packet as openly provided to all debaters by the National Debate Coaches Association. Debaters utilising evidence/arguments outside the packet will receive an auto-loss.
