World Schools Debate

Event Description:

We will follow all TFA rules. Please, be familiar.

Motions:

1. Politics and Govt. Structure

This House would establish term limits for US Supreme Court justices.

2. Education

This House supports collective bargaining for teachers, including the right to strike.

3. Economics and Trade

This House would end the European common currency (Euro).

4. Environment

This House would ban fracking.

5. Personal Freedoms

This House would criminalize violations of local health ordinances (ex. include but are not limited to social distancing, mask mandates, etc.)

6. International Relations

This House supports the use of military intervention in response to the Uyghur Muslim humanitarian crisis.

7. Science/Technology

This House would abolish all patents for green technology.

8. Business/industry/labor

This House supports "Ban the Box" laws.

INFO: A "Ban the Box" law is a law that is aimed at removing barriers to employment for individuals who have been convicted of a crime. "Ban the Box" laws prohibit employers from asking about an applicant's criminal record during the initial application process.

9. Culture

During the pandemic, this House supports federal subsidies for the arts that exceed broader funding for small businesses and employees (ex. include but are not limited to supporting the creation of new art, keeping art venues open, etc.)

10. Other

This House supports statehood for Puerto Rico.
