Event Description:
Informative Speaking (7 min) -- (INF). This is an event in which the student is expected to present new information or new insight into "old" information. The speech is to be not more than seven minutes in length and is to be memorized. Content: the speech should be clearly organized and well-developed. Examples, stories, expert opinions and other supporting evidence should be expected. Delivery: the speaker has ample opportunity to practice, so the highest standards of delivery should be present: good eye contact, fluent and expressive voice, polished gestures. A conversational style of delivery is generally preferred. In this event, the use of visual aids is prohibited.
