Event Description:

Impromptu Speaking will follow NSDA rules on evidence, preparation, and speech time limits. Rules are available in the HS Unified Manual which can be accessed on speechanddebate.org.

In Impromptu, the 7-minute time limit will begin once the student has selected their prompt. This 7 minutes may be divided in any manner between preparation and speaking time.

All speech events will allow a 30 second grace period beyond the maximum time limit for the event.
