Event Description:
Oral Interpretation: Poetry & Lyrical Reading: a selection of poetry (a single poem or a compilation, rhyming or not) or song lyrics delivered by a single performer from manuscript using no props or costumes. Pieces combined in a compilation program should be unified by some central element (e.g. author, subject, style or form). Pieces may feature rhyme, blank or free verse. Students should strive to bring the material to life using primarily facial expression and vocal quality in natural, realistic and believable ways. Students are required to provide brief introductory remarks that, at the least, identify the poem/s’ title/s and author/s.
