tl;dr i will evaluate the round based on offense that is extended, frontline and warranted fully, and ideally comparatively weighed so i don’t have to intervene
hi, i’m daniel! i use any pronouns. please add me to the email chain at danielgarepisholland@gmail.com.
i debated pf on the circuit my senior year as palo alto gs and am now a freshman at the university of washington.
i will vote on any argument that is warranted and extended through the round. i'm most comfortable with substance debate (including any kind of framing) and basic theory shells. i also am somewhat comfortable evaluating t, cap, sec, setcol, etc. and some k-affs, mainly fem — but not 100% so take that as you wish. i have a pretty low threshold for disclo and paraphrase, higher for round reports etc.
nothing is sticky
speak as fast as you want (if you send a doc). please, please, please just send the doc regardless, it makes the round like 20% faster and is just a good thing to do. you can speak from wherever you want and wear whatever is comfortable.
i would recommend slowing down in summary or whenever you start to read a lot of analytics
don't misgender people or be discriminatory, reserve the right to drop you for it. please give a cw/anonymous opt-out form for triggering arguments
ideally you should disclose on the wiki before round, your speaks may be boosted if you do so, email me before round if you don't know how
please extend all offense in every back-half speech. this includes uniqueness, link, internal link, and impact. for turns remember to also extend the rest of the argument if they kick it. no need to extend cards just warrants is fine, don't spend too long on extensions. ideally signpost you're extending the argument so i can just check it off.
you should be collapsing on one or two key pieces of offense in the round, this dramatically increases the chance that you are actually winning the links on these arguments.
the weighing debate is very important to me. i want to see framing, pre-reqs, link ins, and good clash that is resolved through metaweighing. please reserve enough time for weighing and don't just say we win on magnitude and probability weighing. i generally evaluate the link-level and impact debates somewhat separately, so winning your link is a significant advantage.
