I've been in the Speech world for about 11 years now. Four, as a competitor and most recently as a teacher and coach. I think the message of the piece carries as much weight as the performance. They should dance together to rock you out of your seat. I genuinely have a lot of love for this activity. So much of our world is echoed through the speeches that are put together: Makes me feel connected and aware. I go in to a round with an open mind: No expectations just ready to learn, cry, ask questions, and get inspired.
