I am a parent judge but have been judging debates for several years now.
Make sure you have a complete story to tell linking all your arguments to the value/criterion(for LD) or framework and explain how it matters to the basic question being asked in the topic. Tell me how you want me to evaluate the round and explain why your arguments should weigh more. Warrants are important, so are links and topicality.
If it's a traditional value/criterion debate(LD), I will follow the classic standard of using the winning value and criterion to weigh offense.
Before extending arguments, say how it is dropped or not rebutted effectively by your opponent and so you are extending and taking all impacts.
In general, I am not a fan of frivolous theory or non-topical Ks. Again it comes down to how well you can explain the relevance of your arguments to the round.
High speaker points are awarded for effective presentation, persuasive arguments and organization.
I am fine with speed as long as it is comprehensible. Make sure you enunciate well. I do flow all speeches. if you see me not flowing, you are going too fast or spreading.
