Speech and Debate must remain an accessible activity. If debate loses the ability to be enjoyed by individuals who are not an immediate part of our subculture, we are no longer serving a public interest, and hinder the ability for certain voices to be part of the conversation. Keep debate a space that promotes discourse, not gatekeeps through prohibitive competitive practices.
