The Harrisburg High School Chapter of the National Speech & Debate Association would like to invite you to the Roaratorium Tournament at Harrisburg High School on Saturday, October 24, 2026

The following information on events, divisions, fees, judges, schedules, and awards is probably not complete – please ask if you have questions and I will clarify!

Interp on Saturday, October 24

· Double entries allowed. Triple entries if 1 event is RT only.

· Humorous, Duo, and Dramatic Interpretation, Reader's Theater, Poetry, Non-O, Storytelling, POI, and Unified Speech

· Please provide one judge for every 5 entries or fraction thereof in all speech categories.

· There will be three rounds of speech events with finals.

We will offer Novice categories for: Humorous, Duo, and Dramatic Interpretation, Poetry, Non-O, and Storytelling.

· A guest Wi-fi Internet connection will be available.

· No Entry limits. You must bring judges to cover your obligations.

REGISTRATION

We will be using the tabroom.com website for registration this year. If you have questions, please contact me via email: nolan.ortbahn@k12.sd.us. I can also be reached on my cell phone (605) 222-1520. ENTRIES ARE DUE Wednesday, November 19th, at 10:00 pm.

FEES

· Entry fees are $10 for OI events.

· Double entries are allowed in IE events. Triple entries are allowed if one entry is RT.

· Missing judge fees are $150 Speech per day.

JUDGES

We have very few judges to hire at this point. Please cover your slots and let us know if you have any extra judges for any division that another school may hire.

We HIGHLY COURAGE using online balloting for all rounds. Please have your judges register for a tabroom account for notifications and ballots. Paper ballots will be available as well.

ASAP Awards

* ROUNDS WILL BE EXPEDITED WHERE POSSIBLE. ANY OPPORTUNITY TO MOVE UP THE SCHEDULE ONCE THE TOURNAMENT STARTS WILL BE TAKEN.

Concessions

They will be available at HHS. You can purchase concessions with credit cards or with cash. Either works at HHS! There is an ATM located on campus, in the main commons.

AWARDS

Speech: The top six finishers in speech events will receive an award


Sweepstakes:The top three Class AA and top two Class A schools will receive a sweepstakes award.

Arrival and Parking

Teams will enter through the front main doors of the building. Buses may park in the back of the lot. If the lot becomes full, there is additional parking on the West side of the building.

· students: You MAY NOT enter the building without a coach. We are hoping to have teams walk in together as to avoid having unsupervised students in the building for long periods of time.
