Iowa Caucus 2026

Dear Debate Colleagues,

On behalf of Washington High School, the George Washington Debate Society, and the WHS Friends of Forensics, you and your debaters are cordially invited to attend the annual Iowa Caucus Debate Tournament to be held October 23rd- 25th, 2026 in sometimes beautiful Cedar Rapids.

In order to allow for both competitors and judges from far afield, the Caucus will again this year offer debate competition in both live and online formats using NSDA campus. As usual, we will host both varsity and novice divisions in cross-examination debate and will use the 2026-27 NSDA policy topic.

We are pleased again to be a Tournament of Champions qualifier at the semifinal level in varsity policy, as recognized by the University of Kentucky. The Caucus can promise high quality debate, good judging, hospitality, and balmy October weather.
