High School Debate Coaches!

Welcome to the Thunder Reckoning! On October 24, 2026, Desert Hills High School will be hosting a one-day Speech and Debate Tournament. You can register on tabroom.com.

Events Offered:

IEs: Spar, Informative, Original Oratory, Impromptu, Combined Extemp, and Combined Interps.

Debates: Congress, Lincoln-Douglas, Public Forum, and Policy.

Students can enter in 2 IE events (with the exception of Extemp) and 1 Debate event.

Topics:

Congress: UDCA Sept/Oct 2026 Docket.

Lincoln-Douglas: NSDA 2026 Sept/Oct Topic.

Public Forum: NSDA 2026 Sept/Oct Topic.

Policy: NSDA 2026-2027 Topic.

Schedule:

Please note that times listed below are subject to change. We will start the round early if we can, so please plan accordingly, and tell debaters to check Tabroom postings frequently.

Extemp draw/judge meeting 8:00 am.

IE:

1- 8:30 am – 9:45 am

2- 9:45 am – 11:00 am

3- 11:00 am – 12:15 pm

Finals (if needed)

4- 12:15 pm – 1:30 pm

Lunch 12:15 pm

CX:

1- 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm

2- 2:15 pm – 3:45 pm

3- 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

Finals (if needed)

4- 6:15 pm - 7:45 pm (after awards)

Congress:

Session 1 - 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Session 2 - 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm

PF/LD:

1- 1:15 pm – 2:15 pm

2- 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm

3- 3:45 pm – 4:45 pm

Finals (if needed)

4- 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Awards at 6:00 pm (will start earlier if no finals rounds are needed)

Food:

There are several food options around Desert Hills High School. Some are walkable, and others are a short drive away.

As always, judges and coaches will be provided with snacks and lunch at the tournament.

Fees:

$25 per school.

$4 per student per entry.
