CC Carroll TFA NIETOC 2026

Welcome to the 2026 CC Carroll TFA/NIETOC Tournament!

This tournament will take place on Saturday, October 17th, 2026 at Mary Carroll High School -

3202 Saratoga Blvd. Corpus Christi, TX 78415.

We encourage EVERYONE to read the IMPORTANT TFA INFORMATION page on the right.

Your school must have an adult sponsor/judge to be available at all times for all tournament times/rounds to judge and provide support for the tournament if/when needed.

General Info

Section A: Domestic Extemp, International (Foreign) Extemp, Novice Extemp, Duet Acting, Poetry, Novice Poetry

Section B: Program Oral Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Original Oratory, Dramatic Interpretation

Section C: Humorous Interpretation, Informative Speaking, Prose, & Novice Prose

Debate: LD Debate, Congressional Debate, *CX Debate, & *PF Debate

For Debate Events: We will use the National Speech and Debate Association Sept/Oct topics for LD/CX/PF. The topics can be found here.

For TFA Congress: We will use the TFA Docket--please see additional page to the right.

PRELIMS/ROUND ONE Congress will use: 6-10 (in that order)

FINALS/ROUND TWO Congress will use: 1-5 (in that order)

DEFINITION OF NOVICE STUDENT: Generally, a novice is any high school student in their first academic year of competing, regardless of whether they are a freshman or an upperclassman trying out forensics for the first time. Novice status belongs to the student, not to a specific event. For example, if a student competed in Public Forum (PF) debate as a freshman, they are not eligible to enter novice divisions (such as Novice Policy, Lincoln-Douglas, or Extemp) as a sophomore
