The Washington Area Speech and Debate League (WASDL) Speech and Policy 1 tournaments on Saturday, October 17, 2026 are being held at Yorktown High School, Arlington, Virginia.Registration deadlines are—

Competitors: 9:00 pm, Tuesday, October 13, 2026
Judges: 9:00 pm, Thursday, October 15, 2026
Drops/Name Changes: 9:00 pm, Friday, October 16, 2026

Policy Topic— Resolved: The United States federal government should establish national health insurance in the United States.

Please note that competitors who do not have Tabroom accounts linked correctly to your Competitors Roster will not receive round notifications, which means you will have to look up room assignment, side, opponent, and judge information for them at the beginning of each round. Nor will they have access to their ballots after the tournament. Ensure all of your competitors are linked.

An authorized adult representative or coach MUST be with the students at the tournament site (including virtual) at ALL times.
