BEAVER BATTLES 2027

WECOME TO BEAVER BATTLES 2027!

The tournament will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2027.

Registration is now open.

Changes:
This year SpAr will run as a debate-style event in the afternoon, and we have shortened the lunch break to give us an earlier finish. Also, judges should plan on using Tabroom.com rather than our traditional paper ballots (Very sorry. We were extremelly proud to be the only paper tournament left in the world, but tabulating results just became too cumbersome as we grew).

Events:
Speech: Standard speech events will include Original Oratory, Impromptu Speaking, Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking,
Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking, POI, Duo Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, and Informative Speaking. The tournament will also include fun, feature events such as Character SpAr, Poetry, Storytelling, Panhandling, TV News Anchor, and the MVB award (Most Valulable Beaver, a/k/a Best Dam Beaver) awarded to the student who claims the most trophies in the most events.
Debate: LD Debate, Public Forum Debate, Policy Debate, SpAr, Big Question Debate, and Old School Student Congress (where students bring their own bills rather than use the UDCA/NSDA recommended bills).

The competition still serves as part four of the Central Utah Speech & Debate Circuit (CUSDC 4); however, everyone is invited to attend.
