Charger Challenge
2026 — Draper, UT/US
Welcome to the 5th Annual Charger Challenge
December 4–6, 2026
Corner Canyon High School | Draper, Utah
At Corner Canyon Speech & Debate, we believe tournaments should do more than determine winners. They should build confidence, develop leadership, foster community, and create memorable experiences that encourage students to remain involved in speech and debate.
Whether your students are attending their first novice tournament or competing for a Tournament of Champions bid, we hope Charger Challenge becomes one of the highlights of your season.
The Charger Challenge was created to provide a national-circuit tournament experience that is accessible, affordable, and community-focused for students throughout the Intermountain West.
Last season, Charger Challenge welcomed more than 700 students from 44 schools across five states. We anticipate reaching capacity again this year. Early registration is strongly encouraged.
Tournament Highlights:
Tournament of Champions Bids & NIETOC Speech Bids
**Offered in partnership with Alta Silver & Black **
- Policy Debate — Quarterfinals Bid
- Public Forum Debate — Semifinals Bid
- Lincoln-Douglas Debate — Finals Bid
- Speech Events — Top 6
- Interpretation Events — Top 3
Charger Challenge has three objectives:
Opportunity
A variety of speech, debate, congress, supplemental, and asynchronous events allows students to compete in multiple events throughout the weekend. Double entry is strongly encouraged.
Recognition
Our awards ceremonies celebrate achievements while inspiring continued participation.
Over 250 custom medals of unique designs, 45 trophies, 25 student recognition awards, and 8 team awards will be presented throughout the tournament.
Community
Charger Challenge emphasizes belonging by creating third spaces and places where students can connect, build friendships and find community.
Throughout the tournament students can visit tabling events featuring local universities, SafeUT, and our National Honor Society. The popular Charger Vibe Station, features games, student clothing swap event, Charger Bingo, horoscopes, poetry on demand and prizes.
