Welcome! This tournament is designed to give students who have decided to take a Debate class an opportunity to give an Extemp speech. This tournament focuses on speech structure and content. Due to time and location restraints- most kids will be a talking head because they recorded somewhere in the hallway. This tournament gives students feedback on their content and as an instructor- valuable feedback while not having to watch 110 novice Extemp speeches.

Please split your team between A and B tournaments if you have over 10 kids entering.

Week #2 - TOURNAMENT STARTING SEPTEMBER 18

1. Should the United States become more directly involved in efforts to end the Sudanese civil war?

2. Will space colonization benefits be worth the enormous investment required to achieve it?

3. Will President Trump help or hurt the Republican candidates in the 2026 midterms?

4. Would requiring every South Dakota public high school to offer a CTE pathway in a high-demand field better prepare students for the workforce?

5. Should American schools make second-language fluency a greater educational priority?

6. Will Sony's shift away from physical game discs ultimately benefit PlayStation consumers?

7. Should closing the pay gap between WNBA and NBA players be a priority for professional basketball?

8. Should congress ban building more hyperscale data centers?

9. Are hyperscale data centers bad for the United States?

Judging needs to be done by Tuesday, September 22 @ 7 pm.
