Top 5 Point Earner
Each year we recognize the students in our district who have accumulated the most number of points in the honor society. No nominations are needed. The top 5 will be honored at the Awards Ceremony at the District Tournament.
Student of the Year
The District Student of the Year award is presented to a graduating senior in each district who best represents the tenets of the Association’s Code of Honor: integrity, respect, humility, leadership, and service. Nominees must also demonstrate strong academic credentials and a commitment to the speech and debate community. Each year, six students who win the district award are selected as finalists for the William Woods Tate, Jr., National Student of the Year award.

Assistant Coach of the Year
The National Speech & Debate Association’s award is in its inaugural year. It recognizes an exemplary high school coach serving at an NSDA member school.

New Coach of the Year
The National Speech & Debate Association’s award is in its inaugural year. It recognizes an exemplary high school coach who is in their first year of NSDA membership.
Each District Committee may award a District New Coach of the Year to a deserving member coach in their district, and from those district-level award winners, a National New Coach of the Year is selected.

Volunteer of the Year
The District Volunteer of the Year Award showcases an individual who has given extraordinary time and talents to the mission of meaningfully involving more students in speech and debate.
Prerequisites: To be considered, individuals do not need to have competed in speech and debate. Individuals must have made a profound impact on the district and/or community within the previous calendar year.
Nomination Process: Any National Speech & Debate Association member coach or student may submit a nomination by completing the form/emailing the selection committee.
Selection Process: Upon receiving the awards nominations, the Awards Committee will meet to select a winner from among the nominations submitted. If a member of the Awards Committee would like to nominate an individual, they must complete the nomination process by the deadline.
