Denfeld Zenith City Debate Tournament - October 13, 2018

We are proud to bring  a debate tournament to the Duluth Community.

Denfeld High School is proud to host the Zenith City Debate tournament on October 13, 2018. The Hunters of Denfeld High School promise to offer a competitive and exciting tournament in a simple one-day format.

Formats:

Lincoln-Douglas: We will offer Varsity, JV, and Novice Lincoln-Douglas debate.

Resolution: 

Public Forum: We will offer Varsity, JV, and Novice Public-Forum debate.

            Resolution:

Congressional Debate: We will offer two sessions of congressional debate and a Super Congress. Congress legislation will be available on Oct. 1st. You will find it on the Tabroom site.

 

Impromptu - We will be offering Impromptu.  We will have three rounds - they will happen after round 3, 4 and 5.  Impromptu speech length plus prep time will be five minutes.  We ask that schools provide one judge for every 4 impromptu students.

Categories for our Impromptu rounds will be shared the week of the tournament in an email to all schools attending. 

Judges:

You are asked to provide one judge for every two entries LD or PF and 1 per 5 Congress and 1 per 4 Impromptu entries.

Please make sure that judges arrive on time. Teams that arrive without their full complement of judges may be charged for hiring of additional judges or asked to drop entries to allow the tournament to run on time.

Registration: For your convenience, we will accept registrations via tabroom.com this year.

Registration is due by 9:00 PM on Wednesday, October 10, 2018.

Changes can be done up until Saturday, October 13, at 7:30 am.

Timeline: 7:30-8:30 – Registration opens

Round One-9:00 am

Congress Sessions #1 – 9:00 am

Awards: 3:45 – Denfeld Gymnasium

Fees: $12.50 per entry | Public Forum Team or Lincoln-Douglas debater.  $4 per entry for congressional debate. $1 per entry for impromptu.

Food: Pizza and other concessions will be available throughout the tournament for all students. Hospitality room provided for our judges and coaches!
