NSDA Great Salt Lake District National Tournament

Congress: February 28, 2018 – Grantsville High School – 3:30 PM

Debate: March 1-2, 2018 – East High School – 3:30 PM

IE: March 3, 2018 – East High School  - 9:00 AM

 

Rules/School Qualification:

·         Schools must be paid members of the National Speech and Debate Association

·         Any issues regarding payments must be addressed directly with the NSDA.

Schedule:

·         Due to the fact that the tournament depends on students making it through break rounds it is hard to say when then tournament will end. Teams are welcome to leave when they are eliminated from the tournament.

·         All students are guaranteed the first two rounds. After two losses (or downs) the student is eliminated. Once eliminated students may check out with their coach and leave.

Fees:

·         $4.00 per entry

·         $15.00 per participating qualifier

Topics:

·         Congress: Docket is Posted on Tabroom and E-Mailed

·         LD: March Topic

·         PF: March Topic

·         CS: Annual Topic

Judges:

·         Congress – 1 for every 5 students.

·         CX – 1for every 2 teams

·         PF & LD – 1 for every 3 teams.

·         IE – 1 for every 5 individuals.

·         Debate and IEs judges will be committed for 2 (two) rounds past your entry eliminations

Balloting:

·         Online ballots will be used for the tournament. Please make sure you judges have linked accounts and device. A few extra devices will be available throughout the tournament.

Food:

·         Food will be provided throughout the tournament for coaches and judges
