Tournament Format

The tournament will consist of 5 preliminary rounds in each division. The number of elimination rounds will be determined by the number of entries. In the past, we have cleared to octofinals in Novice and quarterfinals in Junior Varsity. 

Rounds will follow the standard 8 minute constructive, 3 minute cross-examination, and 5 minute rebuttal format. There will be 8 minutes of preparation time for each debate.

The tournament will use the 2017-2018 NFHS policy debate resolution:

"Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its funding and/or regulation of elementary and/or secondary education in the United States."
