Dear All,

Thank you for registering for the Alfred C. Snider International World Schools Debate Tournament. We are excited to welcome you on Cornell campus in a couple of weeks.

Here are a couple of updates.

SCHEDULE
I am attaching an updated schedule. Friday schedule has changed a bit as we have managed to arrange an opening banquet for you all. The banquet and an opening ceremony will be from 4pm - 5.30pm. Starting earlier also allows us to finish a bit earlier on Friday.

We hope everyone can adjust their plans accordingly, however 5.30pm is still the latest you should be on campus.

We hope everyone can make it to the banquet. It will be at Cornell's teaching hotel, The Statler Hotel, just across from the tournament venue. The hotel is known for its excellent food and service.

FRIDAY MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON
For everyone who is coming on Thursday or Friday morning: we would like to make sure you feel welcome and comfortable on our campus. Last year we have arranged a tour of the campus and training by Cornell students, however we understand different teams have different desires and expectations. Therefore we would like to know what would be of interest to you. We can try to accommodate the following activities:
- Tour of campus;
- Talk with an admissions officer;
- Debate training by Cornell debate members;
- Observing a university lecture;
- Empty classroom where your team can work.

If you are interested in any of these, please let me know. If there is anything else you would like to do during your free time in Ithaca, please let us know if we can assist you in any way.

TRANSPORTATION
Several people have talked to me regarding transportation between the hotel and the tournament venue. We will arrange that. You are still welcome to rent a van for your team if you wish so, but we are committed to providing transportation for everyone.
For anyone driving: most of the parking on campus is free after 5pm and during the weekend. However, some spots are reserved 24/7, please read the signs to avoid a parking ticket.

MOTIONS
Once again, these are the prepared motions:
Round 2: THS the establishment of an independent country Kurdistan.
Round 4: THW ban religious organizations from offering rehabilitation services to individuals suffering from drug and alcohol addiction.
Round 6: THW combat the gender wage gap by levying significant fines to those companies that do not show they are making progress in narrowing the gap in their workforce.
Final: THW hold multinational corporations liable for the actions committed by companies in their supply chain.
FOOD
If you haven't done so yet, please let me know of any special dietary preferences or food allergies in your contingent.

I will be sending you another email with more detailed logistics information closer to the tournament.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind regards,
Maja Cimerman
