World Schools Debate

World Schools Debate Information

World School Debate should be listed on the individual preference sheet to indicate whether a competitor prefers a national qualification in an individual or team event or whether they prefer a spot on the World School team. To offset costs, $50/student that makes the team will be deducted from the $250 Judge Bond for the school that they represent.We will be allowed to send 2 teams to the national tournament.

Students interested in applying for the Worlds Debate team should fill out this application: https://forms.gle/ygh5akJXuLhtrB2w5. Please make sure your video is viewable by our judges (don't list it as private).

Applicants will be judged on their analysis, use of support devices, speaking style, and overall presentation. The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 21st at 11:59:59 pm. The East Texas EC will review all applicants and choose the top 10 candidates and alternates. The team members will be announced on 3/1 at the District Tournament.

The motion is: This House regrets the increasing geopolitical influence of BRICS. Info Slide: BRICS is an intergovernmental organization consisting of ten countries–Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.

Students should prepare a Prop 2 OR Opp 2.
