Event Information

EVENTS
a. Section A: Extemporaneous Speaking, Oral Interp, Impromptu Speaking (max 2 events)
b. Section B: Congressional Debate (may enter 2 events in Section A)
d. Section C: Policy, LD, Worlds (may not cross-enter in any other event)

ENTRIES
a. Make all entries using this website.
b. Students competing in person must be accompanied by an adult.
c. Entries must represent a school or organization (no independent entries)
d. Students may compete against other entries from their own school.

TOPICS & RULES
a. We will be guided by Texas Forensic Association IQT tabulation rules: https://www.txfa.org/constitution
b. Lincoln-Douglas debate will use the NSDA high school topic for January/February.
c. Cross-Examination debate will use the NSDA high school topic.
d. Public Forum debate will use the NSDA high school topic for March/April.
e. Congress Docket and World Schools Prepared Motions will be announced ASAP.
f. Impromptu will offer 7 minutes total to draw, prep, and speak.
g. Oral Interp will have 7 minutes total to speak, with 30 seconds grace. There are NO other restrictions or stipulations in this event. Performers may choose book events, memorized pieces, etc.

JUDGING
a. Panels will be used in elimination rounds whenever possible.
b. High School debaters with at least one semester of experience may judge.
c. We are happy to help combine judge obligations when possible. Email us.
d. Judges may be given ballots for students in their own feeder middle schools.
