Dear UIL Academic Coordinators/Sponsors:
Mt. Pleasant High School would like to invite you to our Winter Tiger Invitational on January 26-27. We will use Hexco, TMSCA, ASW, and A+ computer science. All UIL academic events, CX, LD, and speech will be offered.
Ready writing, computer science, CX and LD will start at 4:30 on Friday the 26th. All other events are on Saturday the 27th.
All academic events will be split into two divisions: 1A-4A and 5A-6A.

REGISTRATION: Please register all speech/debate AND academic contestants through TABROOM at http://mountpleasantwintertiger.tabroom.com. Any questions about registration may be directed to Gina Crouch (rcrouch@mpisd.net) .
DEADLINES: We need your full registration by 3 PM, Wednesday, January 24.
JUDGING: We ask that you provide a judge/grader for every event in which your school is entered. Please do not add a judge’s name if they are unable to help grade. If you cannot provide a judge/grader, then please let us know by Thursday, January 25 so that we can make sure all grading is covered. Replacemnt judge’s fees are as follows:
- Debate/Speech/Writing ($150)
For debate, you must have 1 judge for ever 4 LD contestants or 2 CX teams, or part thereof. For Interp, Speech, and Writing Events, you must provide 1 judge for every 6 participants or part thereof. We prefer judges over the fees!
ENTRY FEES:
CX Entries: $30 per team
LD Entries: $10
Speech Events: $10
CS Hands-On: $15/Team
All Other Events: $10 per event
ENTRIES: Because of space, we are capping all writing event entries at 5 per school for Ready Writing and 5 per school for journalism. If space warrants, we will release waitlist holds beginning on January 24. If you need to add or delete a contestant’s name from your roster, please do so by editing your entries in TABROOM. Email us if you need help adding your entries in Tabroom. Substitutions can be made at the time of the contest in the contest room.
JUDGING and MEDALS: We plan to have 2 divisions for all academic events. Division II: 1A-4A and Division I: 5A-6A. All speech and Debate events will be combined. 1st- 6th place medals will be awarded with team events receiving team plaques. BOTH 1st and 2nd place teacm members will receive medals, and the top journalism and speech teams will be awarded team plaques. Sweepstakes plaques will be awarded to the top 3 schools in each division. Top Speaker plaques will be given for CX and LD. Top Biology, Chemistry, and Physiscs will be given for each division.
All awards will be recognized in the grading room immediately following grading and verification. ALL medals and plaques, as well as all testing materials, will be given out on the day of the contest., An awards or tests not picked up in the grading room following judging will be sent to the tabroom. Please designate someone someone to pick up all materials before leaving, as we prefer NOT to mail anything.
We will have a concession stand for students in the cafeteria and provide hospitality in the teachers’ lounge. We are having street tacos from Jorge’s for lunch.
