*Student Congress will count as a Flight A event, but will be run at a staggered time.

STUDENTS MAY ENTER TWO OTHER FLIGHT A EVENTS AND STILL PARTICIPATE IN STUDENT CONGRESS.

**Group Interp will count as a Flight B event, but will run at a staggered time. Students entered in Group Interp may not be entered in Extemp or Student Congress.

ENTRIES: All students may enter up to two events in each flight. Each student may enter a maximum of four events. Students competing in Student Congress or Group Interp can compete in those events in addition to their 4 other events.

Student Congress: In order to be able to run Congress, each team who has entries in Congress must bring people who are able to judge the event. Please designate Congress judges on your entry. We feel it would be best practice to have two judges in Congress if numbers permit. Therefore, we ask that all coaches should familiarize themselves with the event. Students are invited to write their own Student Congress legislation. It must be submitted to the directors for review by February 3rd, 8:00 p.m.

FEES: $7.00 per entry. $14.00 per Duet Acting and Improvisational Pairs team. $7.00 per student in each group interpretation team.

KESDA MEMBERSHIP FEE: A $35 fee to join KESDA is due upon registration.

TEAM FEE: A $50 team fee will be due upon registration to help offset the cost of Tabroom and other tournament expenses.

ENTRY DEADLINE: Tournament registration will be on Tabroom. Deadline for entries is Monday, February 6 by 8:00 p.m.

JUDGES: Schools must supply one judge for every 6 entries or portion thereof. There will be a $5.00 judge fee per uncovered entry. For example, if the entry form contains 35 entries and you have 4 judges, your school is covering 24 entries with your judges. Therefore, your school would have 11 uncovered entries. (35-24=11) Since the fee is $5.00 per uncovered entry, your school's fee would be $55.00. Duet Acting and Improvisational Pairs count once in terms of computing the number of judges needed and twice for entry fees.

Stand-by Judges: All judges must check in for their rounds on time, and all judges must be on stand-by until all sections have been covered. Please note that a judge will not be considered a "no show" if they are held up in a round that is running late.

Coaches must fill out the judge training certification sheet and submit it at registration.

AWARDS: Awards will be presented to 1st-6th in individual events. First-Sixth Place schools will be recognized for Sweepstakes. A school’s top three entries in each event will count toward sweepstakes. However, all students are eligible for individual awards.

NOVICE FINAL ROUND: We hope to hold a final round for non-advancing novices in interp. Most likely, it will be comprised of three students each from prose and poetry. If numbers are good, we will have a prepared speech final for novices as well. Please note that this round will not count toward sweepstakes. In order to insure that all novices are eligible coaches must indicate who their novices are on Tabroom before the start of the tournament.

TRITHON AWARD: To compete in Trithon, students must enter one event in each of the following areas:

Original Prepared Speaking: Public Speaking, Student Congress (***in order for it to count, student must give at least one speech during the competition), Declamation

Interpretation: Prose, Poetry, Solo, Duet Acting, Storytelling, HI, DI.
