Awards
Sweepstakes will be awarded to the top three schools. We will award medals for first through sixth place as well as team awards for first place in team events including speech and journalism. At this time, we do not plan to split large and small schools.
Registration/Fees
Please register athttp://cantonspring.tabroom.com. Registration deadline is Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. You may change names after this date but all drops made after registration closes will result in the loss of entry fee for academic events. Speech drops MUST be emailed to acoppedge@cantonisd.com by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9th. Failure to do so will result in a fee of twice the value of the original entry fee.
CX$ 30 per team LD $15 Individual Speech $10 Testing $10
Food
A concession stand will be available as well as a hospitality room for sponsors, judges, and bus drivers.
Judges
Speech--one judge for every four LD contestants, one judge for every two CX teams, one judge for every six individual speaking events. Judging fees are $150 for debate/speech events if you do not provide a judge. We prefer judges over fees!
Testing--one judge per testing and writing event.
Poetry/Prose: Reader's Choice
Computer Applications: Limit three participants per school. Additional entries will be waitlisted and entered if space permits. Schools must provide their own computers/printers.
Journalism/Ready Writing: Computers and printers will be provided, however, if students choose to use their own laptops they must provide their own printers and any cords needed due to networking constraints.
A portion of the proceeds from this meet go to the Team Rike Scholarship fund in honor of Rick, Macy, and Caleb Rike.
