At Large Entries

Here are the "At Large" Entry Policies that will be the Arkansas State Championship 2022 - 

At Large Entries - Each school that has at least 1 qualifying entry will get 2 "At Large" IE entries and 2 "At Large" Debate entries. These entries must have competed in that specific event at an in-state tournament. Note this says "entry" and not "students" 

Speech Entries - Due to the limited number of qualifiers in these events. If your student has participated in these events at an in-state tournament AND advanced to an elimination round (or placed Top 3 if it was a finals only event) they can request a waiver for State -

Duet Improv - If two students are qualified in another event at ASC (Example - John qualifies in HI and Bill qualifies in POE), they are eligible to compete in improv.  Each school can get 4 at-large duet improv teams beyond what they’ve qualified. These CAN be your "at-large" entries 

Debate Waivers - If you have qualified an odd number of students in a partner debate event, you can “waive” that student to the State Tournament. You can only get 1 waiver per event. Remember mavericks are not allowed in PF and CX at State.  Important note for Big Questions - You cannot have a waiver for a partner in that event. Your student will debate individually.
