Dear Debate Team,

              You are cordially invited to the 2017 CrossTown Debate Tournament which will be held this year at Grand Forks Red River on Saturday, December 2, starting with registration at 7:30 and rounds will begin at 8:00 AM.

We will be offering Lincoln Douglas, Public Forum, and World Schools debate and will have all of the divisions that numbers allow.  The topics will be as follows

World Schools will use all impromptu rounds.

PF - Resolved: NCAA student athletes ought to be recognized as employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

LD - Resolved: Wealthy nations have an obligation to provide development assistance to other nations.

Registration: is due by Friday, Nov. 24. WE KNOW THIS IS
THE FRIDAY OF THANKSGIVING BREAK, BUT WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO PLAN FOR JUDGES,
ETC. BECAUSE OF THIS YOU CAN MAKE CHANGES WITHOUT PENALTY UNTIL 4:30 ON TUESDAY, NOV. 28TH

You will receive an invoice and code sheet after registration.

Fees will be assessed on Tuesday, Nov. 28th. Changes after that time will be expected to be included in your fees and judging requirements will be expected to be fulfilled.

Additional hired judges are limited and we encourage you to bring your judges.

     Please be on time, as we have to secure judges, food, trophies etc… 

Judging: Teams will need to cover one judge for every three LD or PF teams. All judges must be certified through the NDHSAA.  

Fees are as follows:

                         $10.00 per LD debater

                         $15.00 per PF

  No Fee - World Schools Teams (3-5 students)

                         $75.00 per hired judge
