MS Speech and Debate Tournament

Saturday, May 13^th, 2017

Bettendorf is proud to announce the Bettendorf Middle School Invitational, to be held on Saturday, May 13^th, 2017 at Bettendorf Middle School.  This is our fourth MS tournament and we hope that you will consider joining us – all schools are welcome! 

Junior High / Middle School programs have been growing in the state of Iowa for many years, due largely to the efforts put forth by Tim Sheaff of Dowling Catholic High School.  As the number of interested schools has grown, so has the desire for more opportunities for participation in speech/debate activities.  Bettendorf is proud to offer our 4^th annual MS tournament event. 

This year, MS students will have two opportunities to compete in interscholastic speech/debate activities, as follows:

 ü  DM East hosting May 6^th – main contact is Lauren McCool (with Dave McGinnis hosting additional events at Stilwell Jr High)

 ü  Bettendorf hosting May 13^th – main contact is Joe Rankin

The tournaments are not as seamlessly integrated as previous years, but will offer 2 great opportunities for MS students to compete.
