WE Lillo Invitational at Concordia College

2016 — Moorhead, MN/US

Dear Colleagues,

Concordia College is pleased to invite you to the 73rd Annual W.E. Lillo Invitational Debate Tournament.  In the seven decades since W.E. Lillo founded the tournament, Concordia has welcomed teams from across the upper Midwest to meet on our campus for quality debate competition. Once again, our team and coaching staff hope your experience here will be both enjoyable and educational.

This year’s Lillo will be held on Friday, November 4th and Saturday, November 5th.  While we are aware that this date conflicts with some other forensics events we are constrained by both the general Concordia calendar and our schedule of collegiate tournaments when picking a date.  We hope that despite such conflicts you choose to send some teams to Moorhead to compete.

We would take this opportunity to remind you that, despite the decision to eliminate speech events for our November date, Concordia continues to be very committed to speech competition.  November is just too early to host a speech tournament.  If, however, you work with students who are interested in college speech competition, please let us know about that interest!  More information about the Concordia Forensics Program can be found at our web site:

We would like to host three divisions of policy debate and two divisions of Public Forum and Lincoln-Douglas.  Despite our desire to support all three of these debate formats, it has been some time since we have had sufficient entries for a viable field in PF or LD.  If you are interested in entering public forum or LD debaters, please send an email message to olek@cord.edu before Tuesday, October 25th so we can formally confirm our ability to offer these divisions.

We hope you can join us for this fun and exciting opportunity.

Sincerely,

Emily Bosch, Assistant Director of Forensics

Joe Kennedy, Speech Coach

Adam Knowlton, Assistant Director of Forensics

Teresa Oberdorfer, Assistant Director of Forensics

Fred Sternhagen, Director of Forensics
