Roseville Rosebowl

2016 — Roseville, MN/US

Roseville Area High School is pleased to be offering our invitational Policy and Lincoln-Douglas debate tournament on Saturday October 28 and 29, 2016. This is the tenth annual Roseville Rosebowl.  The tournament will follow a bowling theme with awards for the top three two person teams winning bowling pins as trophies.  This year we will begin also awarding the first Brian Plunkett Memorial Award for Creative Debate(bit.do/bpaward)—a special award for the most creative argument given in round in the tournament.

We will also be awarding prizes for the top three costumes on SATURDAY. Costumes are optional but encouraged and we award extra points for nerd cred.

Policy Debate: We will be offering rookies, novice, J/V and Varsity level debate with Novice and Rookie being offered as two tournaments one for Friday and one for Saturday.

Lincoln-Douglas: We will offer Novice, Junior Varsity and Varsity divisions.  Note: we will be using the September-October topic for this tournament.
Judges:
You must provide one qualified judge for every two classic teams entered.  (If you bring1-2 teams, you need 1 judge; 3-4 teams = 2 judges; 5-6 teams = 3 judges etc.).  The tournament might have a very limited number of judges to hire at $110 per day (or to trade for future judges).  We will provide a short meeting before the tournament starts to provide an overview of the process of judging.  Judges will be fed.

Registration:  Please register on tabroom.com. The registration deadline is Monday,  October 24.  If changes in your registration arise, please send us that information by 10/24.

Food:  Pizza, pop and candy will be available for sale at lunch time.

Fees:  The cost is $25 per two-person team and L-D entry, checks payable to Roseville Area High School Debate.
