Copper Hills High School is excited to host our first ever regular season tournament this year called Ursa Major! The tournament will be held on December 11^th and 12^th with registration opening at 2:30 on Friday and pairings on Saturday released at 7:30 AM.

There have already been a number of awesome schools that have committed to come but we have a big building and would love to host a big tournament.

We are having all of the standard events: CX, PF, LD, Congress, NX, FX, Impromptu, Oratory, Spar, HI, DI, DUO

We will also have Poetry and Declamation

ALL events will occur on BOTH DAYS.

We will have two panels of speech to allow for HYPER Multiple entry:

Our tournament will abide by these principles:

No elims (6 rounds in debate, two days of congress, and 4 rounds in each panel of speech) this allows all of your members to get A LOT rounds in

We will value speech AND Debate

Sweepstakes for small teams and big ones (at least one "quantity" trophy and one "quality" trophy)

Lots of awards

Great hospitality (we have clearance to use the school kitchen and “restaurant”)

Awesome judging- The tournament will be hiring “experts” in LD and Policy

A friendly, respectful, and fair environment

A sweet awards ceremony in our auditorium with some pomp and circumstance

Because we don't have elims it will feel like an early ending on saturday
